Cell Antenna Connector Help

I'm going to post a couple of really bad photos. Didn't have my camera to take better ones.

Anyhow, I purchased a cell phone antenna to use with a booster. However, although the antenna is fiberglass & stainless, it isn't strictly a marine antenna. It can be used on an RV, truck or even a house. So, it does not have a standard marine mount. That I took care of.

However, I took it to Radio Shack to find a coax fitting and nothing worked. It is a male connector in that it has a center copper conductor however, it has exterior threads. The exterior threads are similar in size to a PL259 but look coarser.

Anyhow, this came without any instructions or spec's so I'm wondering if any of you have an idea what kind of coax connector might go in this thing?

Rick, I went thru this maze of SMB, SMA, Et Al with an XM antennae and never could get things to match up right.
I finally went to that old electronics store in SB and he took it in the back room, finally came back with an adapter that got me where I could connect. I'd already gone to 3 different radio shacks and everywhere else I could without luck.

"N" or PL259
You have to look in the RF connectors or go to a ham radio site. Radio shack is not about radios any more!!

It does look like a type N female connector. I guess there are 75 and 50 ohm connectors and they should not be interchanged. It could be the SMA reverse polarity too but I found a similar antenna and it was an N series.

I'm going to go to the electrical shop in San Bernardino rather than chasing my tail. Again, thanks to all of you for saving me chunks of time on this!

Concurr on the previous comments about being an N connector, check out streakwave.com for parts, they carry this stuff in bulk. They are also very helpful on the phone if you need help figuring things out.

That is an N type connector. It's very common. You will need to know what type of cable you have and possibly a crimping tool depending on the cable type and connector type. I have some connectors for different cables if you have trouble locating one.
