Has anyone upgraded a CDI 2 to ball bearing from regular bearing? How did it work?

I installed a CDI on my last boat (Gloucester 22) with the ball bearing upgrade. It was easy to install and worked fine. Don't let anyone tell you that they are only good for furling. I used mine to reef all the time. Bill

WORTHWHILE UPGRADE

I HAVE HELPED TWO PEOPLE UPGRADE THIER CDI'S TO BALL BEARING AND IT WAS SIGNIFICANTLY SMOOTHER. ON MY OWN BOAT I JUST INSTALLED GARHAURER STANCHION BLOCKS AND I AM AMAZED HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE THEY MAKE. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks. Making the line run with less friction might just do it. It's also good to know it can be upgraded if that seems necessary.
