I've got a dealer innstalled CDI furler, and it has about a 90 degree twist in the luff, from top to bottom. CDI sent me a new one. Within a few months the new one developed a twist ! I don't get it. Anybody else had a problem with a CDI on a 240 ?

Haven't noticed it to be honest

Mine is about 18 months old and I haven't noticed the twist. Can you see it even with the sail furled?

My CDI OK

I have had a CDI furler on my H26 for several years and it has performed very well. CDI stands behind their product for life, so seek help from them to figure out what is going wrong. Is it rigged correctly? Good Luck!!

CDI twist

I recently purchased a '97 Hunter 26 with a CDI furler on it. My boat has the same twist on the jib luff. I have not found the cause. I will be interested to follow this thread and see if anyone has any answers.

Might be alright...

CDI stands behind their furlers. They are tough little things. CDI just gave me a new furler extrusion because the old one got beat to death during a hail storm (baseball size hail). The furling extrusion is very strong, however it wouldn't talk much torque to put a 90 degree twist in it. I suspect the furler is just lining up with the shape of your sail when it is unfurled. You can check that out the next time you sail. As you start to furl it up it just starts furling with that slight twist in it. Check it out. If the Furler is running tangent to the sail shape all the way up then it is probably alright. If there is an abrubt change in curvature along the chordal length any where up the sail then something is probably binding. Good luck - Hope you get it worked out
