What line do you use for a CDI 2 Furler. I do not want the drum line but rather the line that you use to adjust the sail itself. Mine looks like 1/2 inch but not sure, I need the diameter as well as length for a Hunter 23 that runs back to the winches.

A CDI furler only has three lines, I'm pretty sure. The internal halyard, the tack line, and the "drum line".

Half-inch sounds too large for the biggest line, the internal halyard.

Could you please restate the question?

I believe Teacher 63 is looking for the size and length of sheet that attaches to the CLEW. I believe on most small boats using a CDI Furler, the DRUM line is 1/4 inch and the lines or sheets that attach to the clew are 1/2 inch. When older they seem to look like 5/8th due to the constant swelling when wet and drying out. Just my basic knowledge, right or wrong? As for the length, you will need to figure out how much four or five wraps around your furled sail, plus the distance from there to your winch, plus three wraps around the winch and then add 5 foot at a minimum. This times two, Port and Starbord Sheets. This size can vary based on preference and comfort for single handed sailing. Always best to have more than you need than less.

Again in my experience and not necessarily correct!

I purchased 60' of 1/2 sta-set for my jib sheets. I used it twice and removed it. It was a few inches to short for my 25. If it is long enough for your 23 I would be interested in selling it. It is blue with white fleck. Cost new was $144.00 Would ship for $100.00 if you can use it.

The line size for your jib sheet should be part of your boat specs, though in looking at the H23 manual on here I did not see it. For my boat (H240) it is 32 feet of 3/8" line, so I would assume yours is something fairly similar to that. Also, you don't really need a lot of "extra" line still left after the sail is furled unless your furler likes to get jammed - it is easy enough to pull by hand off the furler.

the standard sheet lines for a boat of that size to include the Hunter water ballast is 3/8 line which is what Hunter supplied and I supplied with all other boats. Anything larger is not needed. Some went with 5/16 but once I saw 1/4 line used as sheets. I advised the owner on that one.
