I just hooked up my new replacement cd player and I have no power. My old unit was a 18 year old Maxxima stereo tuner/cassette tape deck/graphics equalizer that was original equipment on my Hunter legend 37 1988 and when I disconneted it i had power to it.My new unit is a car cd player. I matched up the old speaker wiresin the boat with the new color speaker wires on the new unit and my old red hot line I matched up to my new red hot line from the new cd player with an in line 8 amp fuse.I removed the old 5 amp fuse from the original red hot line, however, on the new unit I have a second hot line called the ignition line with a one amp fuse. What do I do with this line? Also on the speaker wires on the new unit for example I matched up the left front Brown speaker wire on the boat to the new left from speaker wire on the new cd unit which is a white line, however, there is a second front left speaker line on the new unit described as white/black.On the new cd player each speaker has 2 lines a positive and negative one, maybe I have them reversed in my new connections,Are the boat speaker wires positive or negative as only one comes back to the old unit for each speaker. What do I do with these extra wires. Also on the old boat unit I noticed therre is a orange line described as "left com." orange and a right speaker wire "right com." white line . What are these for. Were they for the graphics equalizer?? don't know.I traced my red boat hot line back to the panel which lights up when I flip the toggle switch on. What about reverse polarity with the speakers? Is this a possible caused of my no power if so how do I fix it.Any advice is most appreciated, Thanks you allBarrie
