How far doesthe shackle move when the centre board goes from down to up . Just change the cabin top lines as they were weathered and trying to remember how far the last / rear block moves. Boats in the water and do not hear a thump but don't want to winch too hard.

You will have to adjust until you hear two klunks or sounds when the centerboard will touch the top of the centerboard housing and of course down. It is imperative that you get the top klunking sound or you will have difficulty getting the boat off the trailer at times as the board will be down to low and snag on the trailer. Ask Kermit on that problem.

Thanks. I recall it being about 18 inches . Am thinking of adding another block to the cascade system so I don't have to use the winch.

I just returned from replacing the single bocks on my keel up haul with double blocks. What a difference that made. It now takes half the effort to raise the keel.

I paid attention to the movement of the line and was surprised to see it only moved about 12" at the forward block.

I would like to see those pictures too. My single block on the H240 is bend. So I think going with a double would probably be a great improvement.

Sorry, due to T storms and gusting to 25, I skipped sailing this weekend. I hope to sail next weekend and will get photos then.

Here are the photos of my new keel up-haul tackle: #1 is with the keel up #3 is with the keel down
Good idea. My problem on the H240 is the cheek block that turns the up haul line 90 degrees from the mast to the stern. It is bend and i need to find a beefier one maybe, before i copy this set up.

Can anyone send me a photo or sketch of the original routing of the H23.5 centerboard cascade line and block layout ?

I installed a new board and forgot how the lines were routed. Thanks !

My e-mail is jburns@aol.com Please state "H23.5 Centerboard" in the "Subject" line so I do not delete it by accident. Thanks again.
