I was debating whether or not to sign up for this association as there is a fee involved. The best I can tell the activity has pretty much died off over the last year and am wondering if anyone has any insight or is a current member and if the forums are of any better use than these free ones here. Thanks. Tim Haibach 1985 Catalina 27 "Harmony" Boston, MA

C-27 owner's association

Hi, I hate to say it but I wouldn't waste my money (again) on joining. I signed up because of the supposed technical articles etc. contained behind the password screen. Turns out that there are only a couple...the rest are being scanned in, but people have been waiting for that for a couple of years now. Spend the money on a practical sailor or good old boat magazine subscribtion. Just my opinion. Thanks, Matt Equity Salem, MA

The old C27 website

used to have a great amount of valuable information. Fro some reason it seems to have disappeared. One of the posts was the best complete wiring harness post directly from Seaward. I'm glad I saved it years ago, including the wiring diagram GIF files. The new website seems bare bones in comparison. That said, you do get Mainsheet magazine if you join. Also, you may want to consider contacting some of the officers of the C27 Association and get a better feel than we can give you. They may have back issues of the tech notes that they saved over the years which will save you an invaluable amount of time and effort to avoid reinventing the wheel. Your boat, your choice.
