the new sail magazine has a story about frank butler and the history of catalina. one topic covered, which was discussed on this site, is that catalina has a policy of maintaing parts even or older boats.

Catalina Yachts has been good to deal with. I have been happy with my Catalina 30 and it is a huge advantage to be able to get parts for it that are not something you have to have made custom.
My next boat will probably be a larger Catalina.....in about 20 years!
