I am looking for any information about a model 34MK1. I know about the MK11 but I saw a 1986 MK1 listed for sale. Do you think that this was a typing error or is this a good number?

When Catalina introduced the Mark II
in the early 90s, the original C-34 bacame the Mark I. Until that time, there was no such designation. All the Mark I indicates is that it has the original cockpit lay-out and stern (without the walk-through transom). On a similar vein, the original C-30 was produced through '86 when the Mark II was introduced. This was superceded by the Mark III in '03. The original C-30s are therefore called the Mark I, although they were never produced with that designation. Same holds true for the C-320s where the new Mark II was introduced this month at the Annapolis Boat Show Steve Alchemist C-320 Mark I

The C34 was built in 1986, in 1988 I chartered an 86 C34 in Anacortes Wa. I don't know when Catalina started the C34 exactly. Is that what you were asking?

C34 Mk - I 1/2
The C34 Mk-I was made from 86-89. Then came the Mk-I with an open transom and a swim step which was made from 90-95 (also know as the Mk-I 1/2). The Mk - II showed up in 96. I own a 90 Mk-I 1/2. I had moved up from a 84 C30. The C34 is a great boat and I highly recommend it. Cheers
