When Catalina introduced the Mark II
in the early 90s, the original C-34 bacame the Mark I. Until that time, there was no such designation. All the Mark I indicates is that it has the original cockpit lay-out and stern (without the walk-through transom). On a similar vein, the original C-30 was produced through '86 when the Mark II was introduced. This was superceded by the Mark III in '03. The original C-30s are therefore called the Mark I, although they were never produced with that designation.Same holds true for the C-320s where the new Mark II was introduced this month at the Annapolis Boat ShowSteveAlchemist C-320 Mark I
