I've heard of a book that has the collected wisdom of Catalina owners over the centuries: all sorts of tricks and upgrades and how-to's. Anybody know where you can get it from? Thanks, Tom

It depends on what model boat you have, on where you can get it.What you are looking for is a Tech Talk Collection.Whatever your boat model, I would find a local-national web site and look there.Perhaps if you post what type of boat you have, someone will have more information.

How to book

Tom, Are you refering to the "Mainsheet Magazine"? It is written exclusively of Catalina and Capri sail boats. It usually has articles written by owners covering each size from the 47s on down.They usually write about their cruises (each fleet) and then there is usually tech notes specific to each model. I think that it is pretty informative. It can't get any better than owners writting articles about their own boats!!

It also sounds like it could be the Technical Manual they send when you join the Catalina 22 Association. It's a compilation of hints and techie advice from more experienced owners, along with articles from Mainsheet and Mainbrace. Good luck!

Tech Talk Collection

There is a C-30 Tech Talk Collection that is available that is available from the C-30 International Association's website. It is a collection of tech articles from the Mainsheet magazine and is published by the C-30 Tech Talk editor Dick Dickens. It is an invaluable resource. I know the Mainsheet has tech articles on several types of Catalina's, so similar collections may now be available on C-22's, 27's, 36's etc. My C-30 Tech Talk collection is dog-eared from use.
