We'll be there

We have made the Cruiser's weekend and annual event for the Wing N'Prayer. Hope to have a few members if the reorganizing C36 Fleet 2 out of Long Beach there for our first unofficial get together. It sure has been a fun weekend not to mention the great sounds of the Eric Stone Band. See you there.

Thanks for the info. We'll be there too!

We were tentatively planning on going to Catalina that weekend anyway. We will be departing from Long Beach. Queensay road. Finally talked brother-in-law into taking trip. Wife and sister are not as easy to convince so they will be taking Catalina Express over and meeting us there.

That sounds like a blast...

But I'd have to leave at 6 pm to get there early enough the next day to find a mooring ball. Have a great time. I plan on doing the Catalina trip some day.

Can't get there from here

If I am not mistaken, you cannot get to Two Harbors from Long Beach - but Avalon is nice this time of year.

Serious Mark?

I didn't know that. I don't know much about Catalina Island. Not even sure where Two Harbors is located. I'll have to check the charts.

Mooring at Two Harbors

Brian, Mark is right. Since the season is over getting a mooring should be easy. Word I got was the "cruisers" typically dont want to shell out the 20 or so bones a day for a can so they just drop the hook out by the reef. And also for planning purposes I put a waypoint out near the bouy in the main channel when you are clear of the kelp out of Point Loma and another one at the entrance to Two Harbors. Averaging 5 knots and sailing the rhumb (which obviously you probably wont be able to do) it said just under 13 hours. We are gonna shove off about 3 am on Wednesday. Triton permitting, that should put us at two harbors in the 7 pm time frame. You can do it! Just look up on the West end of Catalina, mainland side. Cheers Rick s/v Whiskey Chaser
