If I were to head out to Catalina Is. and wanted to anchor, not get a mooring ball, where would I go? See simple question. LOL

For starters: Little Fisherman's Cove on the front side and Catalina Harbor on the back side. Whites (front side) is also an option. There are many other smaller coves to consider as well.

Theoretically, are you asking for yourself, or “a friend?”

Asking for me. My wife is going to Korea in September and I might make a trip to Catalina.

Thanks, Joe. Looks like the info is a little out of date possibly. I contacted the owner of the webpage to inquire. We'll see if they reply.

Where I have anchored where it isn't stupid deep in Catalina is Descanso, just west of Avalon (sloppy), Hen Rock (near Whites, watch for kelp), near the campgrounds on the east side of Isthmus (can get crowded), Emerald Cove and Cat Harbor. I think Cat might be your best bet since you can get off the boat and go into the village and it is well protected although a bit breezy and chilly in the late afternoon.

Thanks, Alan. I knew there was a rate table somewhere.
