Has anyone on the list purchased a Catalina 387? We currently have a 320 and are considering either a 350 or 387. Any suggestions? Thanks

350 a Fantastic Boat

Look closely at the 350. We recently bought one and could not be happier with every aspect of the design. The boat performs great. We have a fully battended main and a 150% Genoa. The two boats are very different the way they are layed out and designed. The 350 is clearly a winner.

C387

Pat What a choice you have to make!!! The 350 is very much admired by its proponents. The 387, if you look carefully, is like a C34 on steroids and "opposite hand" (engineering-ese for exactly the mirror image)! Completely different interior arrangement than the 350, and an aft head, to boot! We love the interior of our C34, it's very functional and useful. When I was onboard a C350, I couldn't figure out why the starboard forward settee (seat) was just facing the head. However, many folks love the boat for its galley arrangement and other features. Your choice. The best advice I've ever heard is "Go spend some time on the boat with your significant other." Good dealers will let you do that. Catalina hasn't built a "dog" in 30 years, not to worry. Find the one you like. Stu
