Catalina 320 exhaust water hose lengths

The exhaust water hose coming out of the muffler is leaking. It's the original hose from 1997 so we want to replace both hoses, engine to muffler and muffler to aft exit. Wondering if anyone knows the lengths we need. We know the diameter is 1 5/8". See photos. Thanks

Hi, looking for some tips, advice on replacing 2 inch corrugated exhaust hose. Some say 13 feet, others say 19. Anyone with actual experience would be helpful.

With the cost of this hose, you don't want to make a mistake. Measure it out ON YOUR OWN BOAT to be sure.

Two boats of the same length, off the same assembly line, in the same year, are not necessarily identical. The internal loops may be laid out differently. Cars, they are not.

OTOH, our C34s are very well documented, and when I replaced our exhaust hose, the "it IS 17 feet" was absolutely true.

Still, do what Ralph says: measure.

My measurements confirmed recorded "wisdom" but at least I'd've known if my boat was one of the exceptions.

Dare we suggest measure...???

Hi Just about to do the same job on hull 505, will remove and measure (to avoid public ridicule ). Just wondering if you ran into any issues/gothcas?

What size thru-hull is that exhaust hose connected? Is there any identifying marks/names on the thru-hull? It seems that many Catalina Yachts use the 1 5/8" dia hump hose, yet no one knows of a replacement thru-hull exhaust fitting, hence my question.

Look around online and you'll find either somebody selling the unused portion of what they purchased or a WILD disparity in pricing. Measure, add a foot, spend the money. When I bought mine, most suppliers wanted something like $18/foot for Shields. I found it for $10/foot and ordered 12 feet. I received 25 feet and sold the extra 13 feet for $7/foot. So, it cost me $30 total.
