We will be taking delivery of a 310 in a couple of weeks and are interested in any problems previous owners have had with their boats that ceould be addressed during commmissioning. Anyone have second thoughts now that the boat has been delivered. Quality problems-like voids, stress cracks, and inferior hardware. Thanks in advance!

Minor problems

My delivery problems were fairly minor although the list of items is still live and growing. In addition to working with the dealer I informed the factory on the more serious issues and have had very positive responses in both cases. The major issues were: Water heater hoses were chafing as they passed under the bulkhead immediately aft of the engine. With only 6 hours on the engine the hoses were worn 1/4 of the way through. Corian was cracked by the top loading freezer door. The factory said they have tracked this down to the 3,000 of shipping. I was fairly diligent about inspecting the boat when it was being comissioned. I was amazed at the state of the boat when it came off the truck and estimate that if the boats was properly prepped for shipment it would reduce the cost by $5,000. Otherwise it's a great boat and much cheaper then therapy with better results. Frank S/V Lazy Dogs

310 Delivery

Our throttle assembly has not been correct from day one. I just can't say enough about my dealer. (and none of it is positive) Other than the dealer, we love the boat. I'm sure you will enjoy it even more than you thought you would.

Not too much to complain about

We took delivery on Hull #51 in late June. Aside from the typical list of "minor" problems (which the dealer fixed in a timely fashion), we've had only one nagging problem that no one has been able to solve yet; the cockpit lazarette takes on water in heavy rain and when I hoze down the boat. As yet, we can't figure out where it's coming from, but I hear it's a common problem among 310's. All things considered, though, I'm pretty darn happy with the boat. She far exceeds even our wildest expectations and I don't suspect I'll be trading her in any time soon in the forseeable future. Heck, maybe never! Good Luck!

310 Lazarette leaks

Carl, I went to Home Depot and got some 3/8" closed cell foam weather stripping, put it on the edges of the lazarette, and the problem seems to be fixed. Hope this helps John Chapter III (#23)

Weather stripping warning

I did this on my boat and for the enormous port lazerette, no problema. But the tiny starboard lazerette was getting moldy. I cleaned it out & actually removed some of the stripping to add a little air flow. I could also drill a couple holes very close to the lid with little chance of water getting into the cabin but I'm gonna try this first. LaDonna

Thanks for the tip

Thanks for the tips on the weather stripping. I'm gonna give that a go and see what happens.I'll also leave a gap for air circulation.
