Hi mates. I have been plugging the end of my boom with a plastic bottle to keep out the bird nests. They peck at it until it slides in enough to build a nest. it is really hard to clean the nest out. My boat has in-mast furling so the boom is exposed. Does anyone know if there is a standard clip on cover for the end of the boom or something that I can make or buy?

Ouch!! I feel you pain. Annoying. Suggest plugging with styrofoam cut to ft or a rag. I am sure other forum members will offer really good solutions. Also check with your boom manufacturer for a cap. I have an open end Selden boom also. Never had a bird try to enter from the end to the best if my knowledge but did find a bird's nest in the boom where the main sheet came out of the boom after I returned from 3 years overseas. It was a mess to remove with needle nose plyers, air compressor a d pulling the main sheet in and out.
