I have a 2000 310 with in-mast furling. I've been using an empty plastic bottle to plug the boom end to keep the birds out. They sometime peck the bottle and push it into the boom. I'm so tired of cleaning it out. Does anyone know of a standard snap on cover for the end of the boom or how to make a cover? I Don't think Catalina Direct sells one.

When birds makng nests in bottom of my main under sail cover shoved in couple towels. Important to remove
before hoisting main or might get bit of surprise when hoist.

I just tape it periodically with white duck tape. No issues with birds.
Now that is a good thought although I do go out every weekend April through November but
may not take long to remove and retape.

I have a friend that has put rubber snakes there and in the anchor locker. Geez I sure jumped the first time I opened up his anchor hatch!
