catalina 30 traveler upgrade

thinking about replacing my traveler which is currently located in the cockpit and attaches to the end of the boom to one mounted on top of the cabin. any traveler manufactures i should stay away from. i saw one on catalina direct but don't know anything about it. if i relocate the traveler, will i have to add a boom vang. there isn't one currently on the boat.

Garhauer

Look at the Garhauer traveler. one of the best upgrades I've made to my 1985 C30.

Yes for Garhauer

Just finished the upgrade myself. Upgraded to the rigid vang Too. Looks great and works great. I used 7/16 rope and that was a mistake. Will be switching to 3/8 rope. Made me learn to do an eye splice, and that is always a good skill to learn.
