Catalina 30 Propane Locker

I'm curious what peoples experiences are with a Gen 1 or Gen 2 Catalina 30 and installing a propane locker for a stove. The stern lazarette is very small and would take some doing to get a propane bottle in there with a proper locker and vent overboard. I am considering a hanging locker on the stern pulpit, but am not excited about having more stuff hanging off the railings. How have you that have converted to propane gone about it?
