dj, i'm not surpised you have no problem with the port clutches - they're correctly alinged, but who mounted the starboard ones?; hard to believe the factory. and flyboy i don't undertand your fairlead problem if you also have factory mounted hardware. catalina does know where the stuff goes.

Here are some photos. Turns out most of my hardware is garhauer. Were they the OEM for Catalina in 1986? I still think my mainsheet is too heavy for the rope clutch that I have. This seems to be the greatest point of friction. I think I am going to look into downsizing the mainsheet to 3/8".

I've found you can also eliminate the block at the gooseneck. The mainsheet rubs across the vang. From the third boom block, go straight down (diagonally) to the base of the mast block instead.
