On the original cushions at the settee and dinette the seat backs are wood backed now from the factory has anyone made just a plalin cushion back with no wood and if so how did you cover the access holes behind the cushions or did you just leave them open ..also the back now is only about 2 inches thick did you leave new cushions the same or increase them to 4 in

Before they made the cushions with built-in backs, they just made them with cloth. The cushions on my boat are like that - seems they went fabric - wood backing and your idea now to no backing. The storage openings behind on the vertical surfaces have no covers, nor do they need them.

I have read and re-read this and still not sure I have the question right but I am going to jump in anyway......feeling bold today!!

Our Cat30 '88 has all fabric back cushions(original) that snap on across the top, most have 3 snaps and the bottom floats, not snapped They cover the storage areas behind them well and everything stays put and is very comfortable. I love the way it all works, I can access the storage easily without moving everything.
