Catalina 27 displacement weight includes?

Does the 6850 lbs of displacement weight for the Catalina 27 include any crew weight or supplies? Or is it just the boat including engine, mast, sails etc? Would that weight also include full tanks? Half filled or empty tanks? Some boat builder use the tanks half filled & include 2 person and two week of supplies in their displacement weight. Just wondering what Catalina included in their displacement total. Thank you, JOHN

It never seems clear whether the manufacturer's specs for "displacement" include something for crew, baggage, equipment, expendables, etc. Ask Catalina how they define it.How do you intend to use the "displacement" value? That may influence whether you add weight for those extras, or not. If you're plugging it into a formula (e.g., Capsize Screening Ratio - CSR) try to apply it conservatively (e.g., for CSR assume it does include something for crew, baggage, fuel, etc., since more displacement tends toward a better CSR).--RonD
