I'm looking into a Catalina 25 (swing Keel) was wondering if anyone had pro's and con's from personal experience about this boat???

Great fun
Catalina 25 is a hefty boat that will sail in any wind and get good speed. I had one for years and still miss it. Well laid out, very efficient, very sturdy. Swing keel can be dangerous if the crank goes wild, so be cautious. Swing is a godsend if (when) you run aground. Catalina still provides the parts, and everything about the boat is affordable. You may want to reinforce the OB mount with a piece of plywood from the inside aft if it feels a little wobbly.

Great Boat
I had one with the fin keel (didn't know that swing keel existed) that was a fabulous boat. Very popular in the northeast. Sailed it for 4 years until I bought my Hunter. I'd recommend the Catalina 25 to anybody. Especially with the pop-top. It made a world of difference for space storage when not sailing.

Although I prefer the fin keel model, I love the Catalina 25. Make sure you get the pop top model. It makes a world of difference, both for your own enjoyment and when you go to sell the boat.
