The Catalina 25 Swing Keel is a beast of its own.
Things like how to minimize jib chafing on the bow pulpit.
How far is too far to lay a Catalina 25 Swing Keel over?
Should rudder area be increased to minimize helm blowout?
Will the Swing Keel fold up in a broach or when past ??degrees?
Has anyone ever knocked down a Catalina 25 Swing Keel?

I guess that means this is not the forum to discuss Catalina 25 issues, eh? And, you're a 34? Why are you trying to answer 25 issues? I'm confused... are the two boats the same in these issues?

Sam, I owned a C25 for 13 years and remain active (i.e., trying to be helpful) on their board, too. They also have an "Admiral's Forum" on their website which encourages those of us who have moved up to continue to hang out.

I try to provide links to useful resources. I learn more by using different resources than only one source.

I encourage you to stay here, too, and visit other 'sites to learn more.

I sailed our C25 overnight to Monterey and back in 1992, with a stop in Santa Cruz on the way down (for fuel). Nice harbor ya got, too.

Nice boat ya got! Mine was a fixed keel, so I sent you to where you can learn from the C25 experts. There are simply more of them over on that board than there are here, although I've sent many of them over here, too.

One of the other things you'll pick up here is that Q&As are not always boat specific. Most boats share the SAME systems, be it engines, water or electrical SYSTEMS. That's why there's such good information here, 'cuz i learn from guys with different boats than we have.
