I have a 1980 Catalina 25 and want to relocate the mainsheet adjuster/traveler from the back of the transom to above the cabin, probably about 8 inches forward the hatch opening. It is from a Catalina 27. I may need to shorten the width a bit. But other than that, is there any reason I cannot do this? Catalina 25 owners of this era are probably well aware why I want to do this. I want to eliminate the low mainsheet line that is too risky to have around with other people in the boat.
