I'm the new owner of a 1979 Cat 25 and realized that the bilge pump doesn't work. Heck, it wasn't even wired, but when I completed that, I realized the ejector hose wasn't hooked up either! Can someone tell me how/where the ejection hose hooks up in the boat? I've looked around in the bilge but can't find anything. Could it T off the head? Help is appreciated.

Austin Go to www.catalina25-250.org. They're your best bet for information, great bunch of helpful folks, specific to your boat. Stu

Look on the outside of the hull

The exit or discharge port for your bilge pump should be somewhere on the outside of your hull. Look for a round thru hull fitting located well above the water line of the boat and above the water line when the boat is heeled over. It might also be located on your transom. Take a look at the installation instructions that (hopefully) came with the bilge pump, or consult the bilge pump section of the West Marine catalog. It will give you instructions about location, wiring, hose type, vented loops, etc. These are not trivial because the pump will save your boat if properly installed and sink your boat if you don't have a proper installation.

bucket and sponge!

I just use a bucket and a sponge.... It takes a while but it always works even if the battery is dead.... Its a tried and true method that has worked for thousands of poor sailers!
