try Catalina Direct

Thagg, there's an outfit in California called Catalina Direct that sells a lot of aftermarket parts for Catalina's, including bow/stern rails for the 22 and 25. I believe their URL is www.catalinadirect.com You will also want to commiserate with the members of the Catalina 22/25/250 national association on their excellent website: http://www.catalina25-250.org/

It May Come as a Shock to Many

but Catalina yachts is STILL IN BUSINESS. :) Try the factory or a local "railmaker." Stu

SS can be welded

and it's probably a lot cheaper than a new rail, depending on how severe the damage. A stanchion bases on my Cat 27 cracked away from the stanchion tubing a few years ago. (Too many people pulling sideways on the stanchion to assist themselves getting aboard.) I think I was charged maybe $50 to repair the weld.

Stainless must be TIG or MIG welded,

forget which but think it's MIG. Check yellow pages if they do MIG they will advertise it. Sometimes hard to find welders that do it with time to do small jobs. Probably need to take the work to him if possible. Might check for someone doing stainless countertops for commercial & home kitchens. Had some stuff done once in high vibration application and "glued" some with JB Weld epoxy and the epoxy held up better than welds.

Try this

Mig or tig will both work.It is a lot harder to find tig welders .With alot of new cars having stainless exhaust,I would try a local shop. You might also try fabricaters,or millwrights. If still no luck locally, email and I'll do it for you.
