Personally I would buy a new keel from Catalina yachts. They have an office in Largo, FLA. The updated one is encapsulated in fibreglass.

As for other parts.... everyone from SBO store right here on this website,
...West Marine.and other online sources, to your local boat supply dealer, would have most parts that apply to any sailboat.
Contact @Dave Groshong and he can help.

I usually buy local so my shop here stays in business.

If.you are talking cabin bulkheads, companionway hatches, etc. You will have to look online for used parts or fabricate or repair what you already have.

What parts do you need, other than a keel ?
What is wrong with your keel ?

As of 2009 there were 15,000 catalina 22 sailboats built and it is still in production. If you can be patient, you will be able to find a badly neglected Cat 22 on Craigs List or some other place and buy it for less than a new keel will cost. Cut it up with a sawzall and keep all of the parts (hatches winches etc) in the shed for if/when you need them.

I would think a C22 that needs a complete keel would likely fall in that category ?
Good learning process, when you discover that rebuilding a sailboat costs more than just buying one on good shape. The C22 is cheap enough that the financial loss isn't horrible.

I though of that when one came up 2 hours away.. unfortunately I didn't have the space for such a task and I suspect most don't either. :frown:

I have done that for cars/truck,but in the long run I almost always just get new parts, if available, because installing old parts that are the same age as the part I am replacing isn't worth it to me. Unavailable parts excepted of course.
(I recently got rid of a pile of salvaged parts I never used, for an old car I no longer own)

There is a place in the Florida Keys that is a "salvage yard" for Catalina trailerable sailboats. Try searching there.
