Cat 30 Universal Engine Replacement

I need to replace the Universal Diesel Engine in my Catalina 30. I am having trouble locating a place that could do the job. I am located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Beta in NC

I have heard that the beta has a nice motor in the 13 HP range. I htink the us dealer is in NC some where near Oriental

Good company, good product

I had the Beta 722 20 3 cyl 20 in my old boat (repowered from an a4). Loved the engine, miss it. I bought parts from the NC dealer, they were absolutely terrific. Not only did they advise on the parts and install, but when they shipped the stuff, they included a cross reference sheet for industry std parts at 50% of marine part prices. You can't beat that. Good people to do business with.

Turner Marine in Mobile Al. is the local dealer for Catalina. They have a web page that will give you phone numbers and directions, and they will give you a quote. You might also check with Marine Diesel Direct on the price for a Universal m3-20b which was a drop-in for my old 5411.They are also on the web.
