Has enyone else had a crack in the center aluminum casting? Mine occurred where one of the screws were drilled thru the assembly and in between the hull mountings. It's something I would think shouldn't happen under normal conditions.

I have a Cat 22 but the rudder assembly is the same. I had the lower lug that holds the bottom pintle crack and seperate from the frame. The tapped in screws thathold the side plates on were all siezed in place and I had to drill them all out to get it apart. Took the pieces to a welding shop and they put it back together. The frame is cast aluminium and can be welded. I drilled thru the frame with the side plates and put it back together with S.S. bolts, washers and lock nuts.
