Hello, A local fellow has a 1984 Cat25 that broke free from its mooring and washed up on some rocks. The port side apparently spent a fair amount of time laying on the rocks. About 6 to 8 inchs of the hull and several inchs of the deck (in the verticle) have been ground away. There is now an opening along the hull/deck joint four to five feet long. The guy wants to sell the boat for $1200. Has anyone attemped a repair of this magnitude? Thanks, Tim

Yikes

It can be done but it would be quite a job. The person who took on a job like that would need to know or be willing to learn a LOT about fiberglass & gelcoat work. Definitely not a job for the faint of heart or the faint of budget. LaDonna
