Cast Your stone

Back in Med school, I did a study on human behavior. I created 2 groups. A control group and a group I labeled as X. I place a person in a room who was made fun of by one person in the control group. Members of the control group did nothing but get in quick witty responses to anything this person said. The whole idea of the experiment was to see how many of group X would join in and insult this person. I came to find that each time the experiment was run, at least 95 percent of the people from the experimental group would join in and insult the person. We see this time after time in every day events. It is our human nature and unfortunately our human weakness. This is one reason we have chauvinism and prejudice. Today I feel like this person that I used in my experiments back in grad school. I know my enemy today. There are many among you. Who, among you are Christians. If there are any, I could use a sailing friend. As for the rest of you, I am here. Go ahead and cast your stone. If you choose to put me down, please, instead just go on to another post. Skipper

Just what are you referring to?

Why would we cast a stone, crab, clam, dead fish, or anything else nautical?

Hey Skip, I looked back at you last 2 post and didn't see anything but compliments. In fact through your post here I found your site wish I also like. Unless you got in that "enviromental question" war that went on it seems everything looks pretty tame. Maybe you got us mixed up with someone else. If not I would like to see what post you are talking about also. Everything is good.

What about this?

If group X knew about the human nature to join in on a "slamfest", wouldn't this preclude them from joining in? Your X group seems like it had no members that were older than 24. A group of elders might not have acted the same because of lessons learned in life. Also, what is wrong with a livly debate? And why would a Christian even be concerned with answering someone that has acted (or wrote) in an un-Christianlike manner?

Skip a stone... cast a net

Skip, Your experiment was close to the truth, but in today’s sailing world it's just the opposite, the "X" (as in MacGregor 26X) sailors are the ones who get ridiculed most of the time. I'm not sure what demons instigated your sudden bout of paranoia but you don't need to get Biblical on us. After all WWJS (S is for "Sail") is irrelevant. Even He didn’t have an OB back then. On the other hand, if you want to be like Him, learn to speak Hebrew and Aramaic, attend worship on Saturday and eat only kosher foods (no pork, shrimp, lobster, catfish, shark, clams). After all, it would be hypocritical to pick and choose only the passages from the Book that fit your cultural upbringing, don’t you think? By the way, I liked your movie in spite of the whales. MArk PS: I just wish you would pick one handle and stick to it!
