Richard, I can recommend The Moorings as a charter company, even though one could hardly describe them as small. I chartered a 4500 cat from them last year, and my friend a 3800. We're both going back this year. That is a good a recommendation as it gets:) best of luck, Adrian

Can't help, but

Can't help you out re; the Caribbean, but if you ever want to sail the Chesapeake Bay in the USA, please check out my business; it is at: http:www.stmichaels.com/sail/ I might add, I have hosted clients from Mexico, Russia, Israel, Sweden, England, etc. Regards and wish you luck in your search. The Caribbean is a great place to sail, other than The Chesapeake, of course, ha! Capt Terry Griggs

Moorings or Sunsail

I am generally a cheap guy (Understatement of the year) but I would only go with either Sunsail or the moorings for my boats in the BVIs (the best place in the Caribbean). Both companies are great. I have chartered from the Moorings for 5 years and NEVER had a complaint. If you are looking to save money then provision your boat yourself. You can have a real savings especially on the drinks. Have fun - it is a great place to sail.

Caribbean Charter Recommendation

Sunsail is certainly not a small operator, in fact they are now the largest in the world. But I have had outstanding experiences and service over two bareboat trips in the BVI. I would recommend them very highly and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. A Caribbean bareboat is an experience no sailor should miss (and most can easily afford, even if they don't know it). We've had the pleasure of taking two different groups of friends since 1999 on a Catalina 42 and Beneteau 46.

Why not try the Whitsundays, Australia

I know plenty of charter companies in the Whitsundays who would welcome your business. In fact we have a Hunter 410 in Charter with Whitsunday Private Yacht Charters. Sunsail on Hamilton Island operate a large fleet of Beneteaus and Jeaneaus as well. Log onto www.whitsunday.net.au. Happy sailing. Judith Backway judithb@airliebeach.net.au
