Careening on A Trailer

I have wondered if it would work, it does. I was touching up the paint on my boat and thought I'd try it. I did not pull it over enough to get all the way across the unpainted portion of the area under the bunk but I can paint what I can and the careen it over to the other side and get the rest. So the only portion you can not get to is the trailing edge of the centerboard and in the trunk. I'll get them next time put it on the lift.

Just Got Back From the Ramp to Tilt the Other Way

Looks like if you tillt your boat to the side it is already inclined to go. The starboard side in the case of the 23.5 you can get it to go a bit further. I went to port the first time and got it about 3/4 of the way off of the bald bunk spots but going to starboard I cleared the bald sppots all the way.

No help with centerboard line but if you were real desperate it almost looks like you could get it over a bit further and take it out on an angle.

Rick - arent your bunks adjustable?
This sounds like they are set too low for your boat, if it can wobble back and forth. Fine to adjust them down slightly with the boat tied off on the other side, but be careful and make sure to get rid of the wobble!

No Problem With the Way the Boat Sits on the Trailer

Except that you can't get paint on the part of the boat on top the bunks. I now know that is not so much an issue. Fortunately the ramp is less than half a mile away so making these trips is easy.

you aren't pulling the boat over by its mast ON the trailer - you are loading it from the water a little off!

Makes sense now. Good idea,
