Recent new owner of a Catalina 36 which has a beautiful teak and holly cabin sole. Just wondering what folks use to clean/protect the sole without making it a skating rink? Thanks,Ron
We use a commercial grade waxless cleaner we purchase at one of the chain hardware or food stores. There are several. Works well and does not add slickness. Rick D.
I recently sold my Catalina 34. The sole was never varnished or polyurethaned or anything else for the 12 years that I owned it. We protected the sole with oriental rug runners. They are not that expensive and with an anti-skid mat beneath, not slippery either. Jim Kane
Ultimate Sole is a varnish with apparently polymeric clear rubber compounds mixed in. Looks good, wears well, doesnt allow slippage when wet ..... really good stuff.Their galley cookware is first class, too.
