my c380 #379 2003 has two model 60-541 safe-t-alert co alarms. lately they tend to go off a lot. i do not have anything on board that produces co. the mode that sets it off is red and green which indicates malfunction. i am told this is due to electric voltage flucuation. does anyone have this problem?

Yes, All the time

This happens on my 306 when the battery voltage drops. I think that the beeper prabably make the batteries drain faster at that point. This problem has caused other boaters in my marine to "break into" boat thinking that it was a smoke alarm. Not happy with the design.

thnx for the input

i put the multimeter on the leads to find that there was no power to the alarm. i chased the wiring down through the aft cabin, head vanity, shower locker, radio cabinet into the wiring panel. i discovered a fuse that was blown. it was a 2 amp fuse. the manufacturer states a maximum of 15 amp fuse. i think that mabe with such a flimsy fuse, slight variations in voltage on the dock might have a big effect on the fuse, and thus the alarm. i am going to put in the 15 amp fuse today...i checked with the catalina service tech at my dealer and he said that would be fine.
