I am obviously Captain Jack and of course the song is in every playlist on the dock.
We have a retired police captain in our circle that is just plain old Captain.
There's a guy on D Dock who never takes his power boat out, never stops cleaning it, and rolls out a Brady Bunch carpet on the T and puts an entire patio out, he is affectionately known as Admiral Fiddlef...
The attorney/politician owner of the large Bertram in the middle of all of our boats, who can't maintain, launch, dock or do anything without specific direction from a bunch of us sailors is Clear Head.
The former dockmate who was fired from his marina job for racial comments toward a fellow employee was called Ed the Head because we believe that he would store human bodies in his bilge....jokingly of course.
Our son, Sean, who is known by everyone in the marina...even people WE don't know walk by and say "Hi, Sean."... is known by all as "The Mayor". He is only 7!
The snazzy dressed, self proclaimed womanizer, who may have an affinity for young girls (again jokingly), is Creepy Dock Guy.
We have John, the Dock Nazi, who walks around telling us all what we are doing wrong with our boats. According to his wife, he is to afraid to take out his Chapparal 41, which is beautiful, so he only takes out his Whaler. I'm sure every dock has one! Nice guy, though. Loaned me a tool once and refused to take it back because it "was used on a blow boat". He is our conversion project!
One of our closest friends, a Spanish native who served in the Spanish Navy and is retired after 20 years with NASA and another 20 as a VP from GE Aerospace, is known as "The Most Interesting Man in the World" because he has the best stories and he sounds just like the Dos Equis guy.
The list is endless!
