Aye Captain! Tis I,--- the fuzzy faced Captain of the small sailing vessel, "Trinkka." :D Actually, I've been wanting to do this since last year when the idea came to me. My wife had been experimenting at home with various doughs like English muffins, Pita wraps, and pocket breads. These breads are approximately 9" round and will fit in my circa 1950s Stanley Ovenette Stove-Top Oven. Then, I had to solve the problem of what to use for a pizza pan. So one day I was shopping in Ocean State Job Lot and I spotted a spring form baking pan and that's when it came to me. Why not use the small round bottom of this pan? It's shaped like a pizza pan and is about 9 1/4", which will fit nicely in my oven. So Last Tuesday when I took my boat out for the first time this season, I brought along a Pita bread, some Ragu sauce, Shredded Mozzarella, American Cheese, and some sliced fried up Portuguese Linguica, and made up my pizza while under sail on the river toward my favorite cove near the Fall River Country Club. The pizza was done when I got down there and dropped the hook. I cut it into four equal slices, which is enough for me as I've been on a diet. I had my pizza for lunch along with my favorite coffee in the whole wide world, the new General Foods International Coffees "Orange Café." This coffee was known as GFI "Orange Cappuccino", which is a whole other story that I won't get into here. Anyway, I caught a 22" Striped Bass and had to throw it back. Perhaps I'll catch a "Keeper" next week! Here are two of my favorite cooking utensils, the stove-top oven and the stove-top grill. These can be found in yard sales and flee markets for next to nothing.

Actually Keith, you're better off grilling certain meats like hamburg outside on your stern rail because of the possibility of a flare up. I tried cooking a hamburg last year on my stove-top grill and almost burned the inside of my cabin. A large cloud of smoke came barreling out of the cabin that day with a flame that singed my head liner. Here is where I went wrong: I was cooking a raw hamburg and placed a pot cover over it on the grill to cut down on grease splattering. When I raised the cover to check my burger, the grease caught on fire and she flared. I put the cover back on it and shut the burner off. So stove-top grills are great, but you need to be careful of what you cook on them. You can buy precooked restaurant hamburgers and put them on this grill with no problem, but never cook a raw hamburg on it. Raw hamburg will make a real mess of the grill. However, hot dogs and steak are great on this grill and you can't beat the grill for making toast. Nice pic, Keith!
Smooth Sailing!

a quick reply...the car is running..about to head out the door to go to the boat...perchance to dream, perchance to sail..
great advice (as usual) from fuzzy and ed, i like the precooked burgers idea. ...we always camped with the kids in a tent and found that precooking some pork sausage, taking shredded cheese and and eggs...with tortillias, yep, the best breakfast burritos in the world, no plates no forks no fuss. And don't forget your favorite salsa and some Hotter texas Pete hot sauce....goes great with apple sauce and cinnamon! a similar breakfast is with grits (instant) instead of tortilla's in a bowl. grits also go great with boiled shrimp at night the door:dance:
happy sails

That sounds good Keith, but I'll skip the hot sauce. Since I went on my diet a few months ago, I've been able to stop taking Omeprazole because my Acid Reflux has disappeared. I don't want to push my luck. I'm a griddle cake man myself. Have fun on the boat.
