Capri 26 interior table removal

My wife & I downgraded to Capri 26 from our C-320. We use English try when we eat & are hoping to make more room. The table unscrews from the bars is not a problem. (I already removed the wings) but the bars are welded in 4 places to the adjustment lock ring around the support pole. Pole is bolted at top & floor. I would put a 2x4” or 4x4” as temp support pole when I remove the spar support. I believe the support pole, ring, table support bars are all Aluminum? Any other ideas beside cutting the welds?

Steel cutting grinding wheel on a grinder.
It will smooth out the residual weld slag as well.
