Capri 22 performance

What do you guys think of the Capri 22 fin keel as a racer. Anything like a j-22/24? I saw a rating of 201, is that accurate? I found one for 5k, w/trailer, suzuki o/b, in great shape, is that good?Thanks,David Mosley

David, IF you look around you may find a J24 for 5K, I have a friend who got one for less. What's the phrf rating for a J24? Whats the rating for a Melges 24? These boats are racing boats! If you want to race get a boat that has a large one design fleet in your area. Laser's, 110's J24's whatever. Regards,Chris

i like j-24's, but...

we have 5 active J-24's, but it is sooo competitive, that you have to buy new sails every season, have all the upgrades, in other words spend alot of money(which my wife will not permit!) I'm looking for something fast, kid friendly, easy to trailer and launch(even though I will keep it with mast up on the trailer) and reasonably fast for phrf. I am not opposed to ther boats, but this Capri 22 looks fast and clean, thats why I wondered about its numbers. I race catamarans primarily, but want to buy something fast for sailing with my monoslug friends. Any other ideas?Thanks,david
