Peninsula Yacht Club Hosted a Lake Norman wide event the weekend of Sept 16-18 and invited other sailors to participate. I wanted to see what sailing was like on a lake 4 times the size of Lake Wylie where I keep her so we decided to take advantage of their hospitality.
While the wind was light the racing and overall event was a lot of fun and well worth the effort to transport Aloha from one lake to another. There were 40 boats in the race in 3 fleets, Spin, Non Spin and cruiser. Quite a bunch of boats of all shapes and sizes... only requirements were a PHRF cert for a 20 foot or greater Keel boat.
Maybe we'll do it again next year. If your're in trailing distance of Charlotte you should consider it as well...
