Very good forum! Two questions: 1) Thermostat capillary tube placement. I notice that in my new (last year) C350, the thermostat capillary tubes for the freezer and reefer sections are both just coiled up and handing below the thermostat dials. Should they be stretched out and placed somewhere specifically in the box, or is this hanging coil the desired location. What got me thinking about this was a post below that mentions making sure that the capillary tube doesn't touch the evaporator. 2) Recent vacation we noticed a loud squeeling noise coming from the spillover fan - small thermostatically controlled fan that draws cold air from the freezer section into the refrigerator section. Any ideas on what could be causing the squeeling? Occasionally during the week, it would start up and run without the noise, but the noise would come back later on. The C350 has an AB refrigeration system - don't know the specific model. Is there an online source where I can buy replacement parts? Thanks Tim Brogan April IV C350 #68 Seattle

Thermostat tube and Noisy Fan

The thermostat capillary tube has a different type of gas in it so it can not be cut and shortened. The excess tube must be coiled up in an out of the way place. As long as the coiled tube does not touch the evaporator it will not effect the refrigerator’s operation. A squealing muffin fan indicates a dry bearing and should be replaced. Most of these fans are available without buying the complete spillover unit. Look in Mouser Electronics Catalog At WWW.mouser.com
