I am sailing to Cape May in late August. Need some help locating a slip at a well protected marina in the harbor. Any all recommendations appreciated! Thanks.

Utsch's is good!

We were forced to layover bringing our boat from Annapolis to New London, and found the staff there courteous, the accommodations good, the rates fair, and there was access to a fair number of restaurants, etc. The approach is interesting, at least we made it so, but once you undertand it and the channel markings, it works. MAST HEIGHT

Utsch's marina is on the east side of a bridge with a clearance of I believe 54 feet. Check out the charts. I hav stayed there and gone back out to go around Cape May and I have gone thur the canal(in different boats). If you go outside, stay close to the beach to stay away from the reef, it also add protection from the surge. Their is a restaurant next to the marina and West Marine is over the bridge. Nice place to stay and it has fuel

Utsch's is the place

We stayed at Utsch's last fall on our way South from Buffalo. One of the best marinas on our trip. Nice welcome basket. Friendly staff. Clean facilities and free internet connection. Call ahead for reservations.

Many thanks!

Thank you all. Utsch's seems to be the perfect spot. I'll check the charts for sure. Kevin

watch out for shoaling west end of canal

have transited it several times. great place to stay. be aware there has been some shoaling on the west end near the ferry terminal on the far side (southern shore). they had been dreging but i don't know how close to the southern shore they worked. keep in the back up area for the ferrys and you will be fine. the bridge height is a no brainer. S/V Que Pasa?
