I plan to take my Bene 350 from Miami to Cape Canaveral to watch a Shuttle Launch. I've seen a launch from KSC and would like to see one from the water, probably on the Banana River area south of KSC.

Does anyone know the general limits of the Security Zone?

I plan to deliver the boat early, stash it in a Marina and return with others to watch the launch. Which marina is recommended ?

I know there are only a few more shuttle launches, ( I have a friend from JSC and will monitor schedules. I thinking in May '09

Any tips are appreciated.

Consider using the Titusville Marina as your stash point; from there you can run a few miles on the Indian River in either direction and find an anchorage that suits you. North would probably be better; the Vertical Assembly Building is visible for several miles from the Indian River beginning just N of the railroad bridge.
