I was working on a boat for a fella up here "installing new floor and carpet " and this fella does canvas work he's seen my 1993 h23.5 and I started asking him about a dodger and full camper type canvas for it he was telling me that it could get expensive as he only uses stainless rails and continued to say it would be in the realm of about $600.00 this was for the homemade dodger AND the bimini along with three sides completely covering the hatch and cockpit . I said well I can rip off the shrinkwrapp and drag it down that day if he wanted it there to get started , I havent got the boat to him but am thinking he MUST have made a mistake this price seems kinda low doesnt it ? lastly has anyone here ever put a dodger on a h23.5? any drawbacks , pros cons ?

There are 72 photos of the H23.5 in "Boat Info". Not a one has a bimini that can be seen. And very few have biminis. Yes, $600. is ridicuously cheap for full canvas on any size boat. The stainless framework could easily run that much. You need to see samples of his work. And you need to hear from other H23.5 owners.

P.S. In the store here on HOW just the bimini for your boat, no sides or back, is $339.00

Bimini and cabin top enclosures are available from this site. Take a look at the top enclosure and see how limited you are for dodger space.

I have the camper type encloser for the hatch and kinda like the extra headroom thinking here that wouldnt lift the hatch just slide the glass forward and install the dodger from there , this is moreso to sit dockside on cooler nights and still be in the cockpit and keeping "most" of the bugs out , will lettcha know how I make out and to what tune it ranged in

Ed: You are correct on that price, but the frame is Alum. not S.S. Notice the bimini for the 25 is about $300 more for a S.S. frame vs the alum frame for the same sized bimini.

We had bimini on our 23.5 and loved it. A dodger on our boat would have been bliss. We have all canvas for our 26 and it makes life at anchor much nicer. $600? Hmmm... Inclined to say heck yes! but DEFINITELY ask for examples of prior work.
