Cantered prop shaft

Looked at a '78 C&C 36 that had the prop shaft cantered to port. This was a new one. This was how it left the factory. But what does that cantered prop mean in real life? It has to turn better to port than starboard.

Offset prop shaft

Actually it's very common especially with C&C's. It makes it simple to remove the prop shaft because you don't have to drop the rudder.

A friend had a C & C and at first haul out we noticed this as well. As said though, you can pull the shaft without dropping the rudder!
