Can't sell a 272LE in the NE.. what a shame-

Been trying to sell my 1987 272LE for 2 years now, and she won't go. Looks like I'm going to have to cut up and part out a perfectly good 272. What a freaking shame! A friend of mine is about to do the same with his O'Day 22. It's not the price, both of us are almost giving them away! What's going on ? Doesn't anyone want to sail good old boats anymore? (I'm very happy with my 322, which is why I'm selling mine, and my friend moved up to a 272).
(Note, this is not a for sale post, just a "what the hell is going on" post!!

It is sad, a glut of good old boats, and not a lot of young people getting into sailing these days. Is there a Scout group or other that might want it and afford you at least a tax write off?

My last 2 sailboats sold very quick. I listed them in Numerous counties and surrounding state craigslist listings. Both boats where O'days. Just saying, u may want to try extending your listing if u haven’t

I assume no trailer. I'd love a 272LE down here in Alabama

Must be the geography. Last year, I sold my 1975 O'Day 27 (decent condition) in 2 days, here in Seattle. Sold it for what I had paid for it 9 years previously.

I note that you are in Mt. Sinai. I'm being priced out of boating here on the East End. I think folks are shying away from buying boats here because of the high cost of storage, upkeep and dockage. You could take it up to Ct. for the winter and trying selling it there. It's a bigger market place.
