I asked for a quote on a jib and main for a 1994 Hunter 26. They sent me back quotes on the main, but on a 110 and 135 genoa instead of a 100 jib. This boat was manufactured without jib cars - there's just a fairlead block. I can't imagine the 135 working 'cause the clew probably would be aft of the fairlead! Anybody try a 110 on this boat? I wouldn't mind a little more sail in light winds, especially for racing, but I definitely don't wish to unbalance the boat - I like it the way it is. I only have enough cash for one fore sail.

My sailmaker did me a favor(?) and made my jib oversized. I don't know if it is a 110 but it must be close. With the stock jib lead it is impossible to trim the jib correctly in any kind of wind. However, if you get two blocks and tie them onto the existing blocks you can do it. Adjust the length to fit your sail. One side effect of the larger jib is that you will not round up as easily as with the smaller jib. Be prepared for some very large angles of heel.
