Can we build a wind generater from a ceiling fan?

I saw this video and it got me thinking. Has anyone every built a small wind generator out of a ceiling fan motor to keep their boat batteries charged. Please watch the video link below? Interesting. I need to find an old ceiling fan now.

Might check thrift shops. The one I use for a book exchange usually has 1 or 2.

Even if you got it to work it would not work for long. The blades on a ceiling fan are not the right shape to really be effective for that and a ceiling fan is not constructed to work that hard. I doubt it would last 24 hours even if you managed to get it to generate electricity.
