sounds silly, but i've not had good results in the past. I guess there is some trick, or special sauce to use. My hull is in beautiful shape, and I just pressure washed some light oxidation off. Now I want to do it right so it will look good and last as long as possible. what kind of buffer, wax, soap, technique, etc. I've been around it, with the little shop I was involved with, but never could make my work as good as the guys next to me.

thanks.

Just follow what the expert ( Main Sail ) tells you and you will have a great looking and longer lasting wax job ,no short cuts or quick wax cleaners.
You get what you pay for,I did every thing he tells you how to get a long lasting good looking boat,it's not easy but well worth it.

I have a 1978 ODay and I followed Maine Sails recipe for a compounding and wax job and my boat never looked so good

The search function on a lot of forums, especially the native search function in vBulletin, blows chunks. Follow Maine Sail's instructions and be prepared for comments on how good your boat looks. :)

I agree 110%

Main Sail's advice is the gospel to follow in this as well as for many other boating questions.

Guys,

Thanks for all the kind words but it is you who made your boats shine not me..;);) I'm very glad I could be of help!!

Recess,

Perfection cures much like AwlGrip and should not be buffed once cured. As a paint marketed as a DIY finish it's a shame they did not use an Acrylic Urethane formulation like AwlCraft 2000 or Imron as it then would be buffable...

Basically lay ot on as smooth as you can and live with it. Probably not what you wanted to hear though. Perhaps the tech support at Interlux would tell you what finishing products are safe during the cure time.

Thanks for the advice Maine, I guess I have five years to enjoy the boat and then sell while it still looks good.

Crosses fingers and hopes the economy is looking up in five years.
